A new addition to Kingsway and Fraser area has opened, Che Baba Cantina is a nice little neighborhood spot.
If you’re looking for yoga, they offer that too, right next door.
Their menu is French and Mediterranean inspired, it’s simple, and the space is small and inviting.
They serve brunch on the weekend (which is on my list), but I was there for dinner with friends.
We enjoyed the Poached Pear and Endive salad, which was a decent size (I hate too large or small salads); there was also the special Tomato and Boccocini salad, which is always a favourite. I found the food fresh, tasty and not badly priced.
For entrée’s we all enjoyed: Wild Mushroom and Truffle Risotto – very tasty; The fish special which changes; and the pasta special which also changes. All very good. I think as they change up the menu and try some new things, it can only get better!
The Wine menu was decent, with beers as well. But I think the dessert topped off the evening! A Poached Pear with Chocolate – is the perfect finale to any meal.
Worth a visit & now two good little eateries in that block! It could even become a local favourite.
